Aim and Scope
The use of digital transformation in cities and industries has been increasing in the past few years. This gave rise to smart cities and smart industries (Industry 4.0 and soon Industry 5.0). It relies on the use of advanced digital technologies to monitor and control many devices remotely in real-time.
This Special Issue aims to present recent advances in smart city as well intelligent manufacturing industries, including a selected contribution from the 10th International Conference on Control, Decision and Information Technologies “CoDIT 2024” (https://codit2024.com/) as well as the papers from other researchers that fit into the topics of this Special Issue.
This special issue is dedicated to the most recent fundamental research and practical applications in smart cities and industry. A range of topics may include but is not limited to the following:
- AI-based tools
- IoT application
- Autonomous vehicles and robotics
- Healthcare and medical diagnostics
- Environmental monitoring and analysis
- Social media analysis
- Predictive maintenance and control
- Tools and platforms for smart transportation
- Bioinformatics

Please refer to the Guide for Authors to prepare your manuscript, and select the article type of“Special Issue: CoDIT24-RTSCI.” when submitting your manuscript online. Both the Guide for Authors and the submission portal could be found on the Journal Homepage here:

All papers submitted to this Special Issue will be handled by the dedicated editor.
- Papers submitted to this Special Issue will be up to eight pages in length including the title, author affiliations, abstract, and figures. Overlength charges will be paid by authors if the paper length exceeds seven pages.
- Papers submitted as a Letter will be up to five pages in length including the title, author affiliations, abstract, visual summary, take home messages and figures. Overlength charges will be paid by authors if the Letters paper length exceeds five pages
Manuscripts submitted after the deadline may not be considered for the special issue and may be transferred to a regular issue.
