Biography

Perizat Yelubayeva is an Associate Professor at al-Farabi Kazakh National University in Almaty, Kazakhstan. She has more than 26 years of teaching and research experience and nearly 13 years of administrative experience in higher educational institutions in Kazakhstan.

She supervises a scientific project on media literacy in language education. Her research focuses on higher education, language education and didactics, intercultural communication, critical discourse and media literacy in language education. She has several articles published in Scopus-indexed journals, six textbooks, and more than ten papers submitted to international conferences.

She is also dedicated to non-profit initiatives and has served on the Republican Educational and Methodological Council and Kazakh Academia in Pedagogical Sciences. Yelubayeva has received numerous accolades, including the 1st-degree diploma in the nomination "The Best Teacher of the CIS - 2022", the Certificate of Honor from the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan in 2020, and the national Baitursynov bronze medal in 2019 for her contributions to education and science. She finds these awards incredibly motivating, especially during the challenging transition to distance learning caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. She is also a reviewer of the Theory and Practice of Second Language Acquisition.
