Biography

Dr Manoj Khandelwal is an Associate Professor and Program Coordinator (UG and PG) of mining engineering at Federation University Australia and is an Australian Endeavour Fellow. Dr Khandelwal has completed his bachelor's degree in mining engineering from Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture & Technology, India, master's in rock mechanics from Indian Institute of Technology, Varanasi and PhD in rock blasting from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.

Before joining Federation University Australia, Dr Khandelwal worked as an Assistant Professor of mining engineering at Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture & Technology. Dr Khandelwal was also a postdoctoral researcher at Monash University and Senior Research Fellow at Central Institute of Mining & Fuel Research, Dhanbad, India. Dr Khandelwal has more than twenty years of research and teaching experience in Australia and India.

Dr Khandelwal has been recognized as a leading expert in mining geomechanics and rock blasting. So far, Dr Khandelwal has published more than 195 research papers in different reputed journals and conference proceedings. As per Scopus, his total citations are more than 5000 with an h-index of 40. He is also the author of a technical book.

He has completed several research and consultancy research projects in his area of interest. He has been awarded several prestigious awards, such as the Young Scientist Award by the President of India, the Young Engineers Award by the Institution of Engineers India, the Young Mining Engineer of the Year and the SRG Information Technology Award from the Mining Engineers’ Association of India, Endeavour Research Fellowship and Endeavour Executive Fellowship from Govt of Australia, etc. Dr Khandelwal is a member of the editorial board of several international journals and a reviewer of more than 150 international journals.
