Biography
Dr. Sonkaria holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of London and is currently a Research Professor at Soft Foundry Institute (Engineering) at Seoul National University. With scientific experiences from India (Welcome Trust DBT Alliance), Germany (Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces) and France and the United Kingdom, Dr. Sonkaria is involved in a multi-disciplinary effort to advance smart material design for applications in energy, environmental and biomedical driven applications.
Research Interest
Research interests lie at the intersection of biology, materials chemistry and engineering to broaden the multidisciplinary nature of materials. Interdisciplinary areas of focus cover the broader field of biomimetics as an important directive to understand and improve the availability of novel nano- and quantum scale materials and their connection with the environment. The work is geared towards innovating more efficient energy harvesting materials, environmental and bio-sensing materials and innovating smart drug delivery devices.
